Most people I know are dissatisfied. They struggle to wake up every morning, hitting the snooze button 20 times before they actually get out of bed. Starting the day with a frown, and looking at the watch every five minutes post 5pm waiting to get out of where they are. In that case you'll never be happy.
They say do what you love and you'll never have to work a single day in your life. This doesn't mean chasing some whacky dream just to stand out and break away from societal norms. Because in that case it'll only be a temporary thrill and you'll still go back to square one, hating your job. You can do 9-5 desk job and love it or be an artist and love it. It's trouble only when, you're not looking forward to starting your day and can't wait for it to come to an end.
Chasing your passion is not something people say for the heck of it. People fear going after their dreams cause they're afraid it won't earn them their bread and butter, but hell do what you love and you'll see the universe work it's magic. You'll be good at what you're doing, you'll be happy while doing it, passionate about it, giving it your heart and soul and then on no one can stop you from being the best it. You don't have to be better than someone else you just have to best version of yourself.
Hurdles are bound to occur, someone may look at your job as boring and someone may look at it as too taxing, what matters is how you look at it. Don't be bogged down by other opinions. Your time here is limited so have the courage to follow your heart and intution.
As Steve Jobs said, every morning look in the mirror and ask yourself, "If today were the last day of my life, what I want to be doing what I'm about to do today?"
